CO DETECTOR/PANEL MOUNT/14V/28VDC/RS232 INPUT AND OUTPUT
price: $494.01
part num: 452-101011

The Aero 452 Carbon Monoxide Detector is designed to detect, measure, and provide both a visual and aural alert to the crew of piston engine type aircraft before the level of carbon monoxide (CO) reaches a critical level. It is the first TSO-certified Carbon Monoxide detector for use in General Aviation.

The installation consists of a single carbon monoxide detector indicator operating on aircraft DC power. The aircraft supplied power and aircraft wiring is protected by a 2 ampere, resetable, trip free, type circuit breaker. The Aero 452 is installed in the existing aircraft instrument panel within view and reach of the pilot.

The unit contains a Test/Reset button, an aural alarm buzzer, an amber LED ALERT annunciator, and a green LED STATUS annunciator.

The carbon monoxide alarm level is calibrated to provide both an aural and visual alert within 5 minutes or less whenever the carbon monoxide level reaches 50 parts per million (PPM) by volume or above per TSO C48A. The warning time is shortened at higher levels of CO concentrations and becomes approximately instant should the carbon monoxide level reach 400 parts per million by volume (PPM) or above.

In case of a carbon monoxide alert, the pilot can acknowledge the alert and silence the aural warning while keeping the visual alert until the carbon monoxide level is again reduced below the alert level. The indicator is automatically reset when the CO level drops below 50 PPM. There is a three-minute delay at startup for sensor to stabilize before the unit will sense CO.

This unit has passed all mandatory functional and quality checks as prescribed by the FAA and has been awarded TSO certification. This unit Aero 452 has also been approved by FAA for installation on certified aircraft. The necessary FAA approved paperwork will be included with the unit, which will authorize its installation on certified aircraft. Some FAA FSDO have allowed it as a log book entry or CO Guardian can supply 337 STC installed on a Cessna 172.

AERO 454 CO2 DETECTOR/BLUETOOTH/REMOTE MOUNT
price: $989.01
part num: 454-201011
Private aircraft passengers can now be kept in the know about their location and course with the Aero 454 CO detection device with Bluetooth. When integrated with a Garmin GPS, this CO detection device can receive and send GPS aircraft location data via Bluetooth to as many as three passengers so that they can independently monitor their location. All the passengers need to do is install an app which provides flight plan data, "direct to", and approach information on their device of choice (iPod, iPhone, or iPad). The Aero 454's fundamental capabilities as a CO detector include detecting and measuring CO levels and providing a visual alert to the crew of a piston engine aircraft when CO reaches a critical level. The installation consists of a single remote-mounted CO detector operating on aircraft DC power.
  • Provides a visual warning when CO levels become too high and remains in effect until levels are reduced below 50 ppm
  • Built-in pressure compensation sensor detects cabin altitude changes up to 25,000 to provide greater improved CO detection accuracy; the model also alarms if the cabin altitude goes above 10,000 feet
  • Receives WAAS GPS location data from on-board GPS with a built-in receiver
  • Transmits via Bluetooth
  • Users will need an applicable Apple app such as Flight Guide, Jeppesen, Foreflight, or WingX to receive flight data; to receive CO level, altitude and more information, use Guardian's own app
  • No external wires or batteries end up on the glare shield

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR
price: $3.54
part num: CO-D
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, natural gas, butane, propane, fuel oil, wood, coal, and other fossil fuels. Dangerous levels of CO can be produced by internal combustion engines or from any poorly vented or improperly adjusted fuel-burning appliance. Exposure to CO may cause sickness, headaches, or even death.

This Carbon Monoxide Detector can save a pilot’s life, especially when flying with the heater on, by warning of the presence of CO in the cockpit—the spot will turn gray/black when CO is in the air. The spot on the detector returns to normal color after exposed to fresh air.

Pilots can use this CO-DETECTOR as their personal and portable CO detection device. With the adhesive back, stick it on the panel or dash for a semi-permanent installation, or wear it on an ID badge or on a lanyard.

Uses include:

  • Airplanes
  • Cars
  • Fuel trucks
  • Grass cutting equipment
  • Tugs
  • Campers
  • And More!

Useful life is 90 days once opened.
