VHF/FM TRANSCEIVER
price: $7,618.60
part num: NTX138-062

The NTX generation of FM transceivers are the next evolutionary step within NAT’s powerful Tac/Com series of airborne communication radios. Combining outstanding technical performance with advanced manufacturing techniques, these radios provide a smooth upgrade path within the Tac/Com product family.

Using microprocessor controlled digital technology, the NTX radio is capable of high speed scanning, high volume channel storage, and is compatible* with the Tac/Com II control head. The split shell design of the NTX makes servicing simple and quick, translating into low cost of ownership, and low MTTR. The NTX supports all the demanding needs for both current and future applications, including CTCSS tones, DCS, encryption (optional), multiple high speed scan modes, high/low TX power selection, and front panel programmable wide or narrow band capability. Depending on the model, optional features can include a 2 channel dedicated real time guard (USFS compatible), selectable bandwidth filters, and DF outputs.

Unlike many existing wide band radios that may suffer from badly degraded selectivity and noise characteristics, the NTX series has the razor sharp RF performance of a narrow-band radio coupled with agility, scanning speed and wide coverage. The advanced multi-conversion receiver design provides outstanding image rejection. Operators in high density radio traffic areas will experience improved freedom from interference even when scanning across dozens of channels.

A major advantage of the NTX is its compact 1/4 ATR size (2.0" wide, 5.1" high and 10.5" deep). A total weight of less than 4.5 lbs (2.2 kg) including the mounting tray, makes the NTX one of the lightest transceivers of its kind. The system interconnect is minimized by using serial communications between the control head and the transceiver.

Available in several bands, the NTX series offers flexibility, reliability and a light weight alternative to existing FM transceivers.

    CONTROL HEAD/NTX/NTX
    price: $4,534.20
    part num: TH250-13JJ

AEM Tac/Com Tactical FM Communication systems were developed in close consultation with Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical and Forestry agencies. The focus on development was to address common problems associated with complex multi-radio installations for multi-mission aircraft such as limited panel space, simultaneous operation, inexperienced users, complex operational modes, high frequency volumes, and future upgradeability.

The Tac/Com family is a series of configurable multiple radio control heads, agile transceivers and supplemental equipment. The modular control heads, capable of operating either AEM or various alternative manufacturer radios, such as RT9600, RT138, Motorola Trunking, and URC-200, can provide simultaneous control for up to four transceivers from a single control. Operational features include alpha-numeric labeling of all channels (HOSPITAL and POLICE instead of 154.785 MHz), and on-line help screens. Synthesized agile transceivers cover VHF and UHF FM bands and provide multiple scanning modes, synthetic guard, priority scanning, CTCSS tones, DPL squelch control, and optional DES encryption capability. Supplemental equipment includes encryption encoders/decoders, DTMF keypads, relay-simulcast controllers, and attenuator pads.

The ability to design a communication system to suit each application while maintaining ease of installation and operation is the philosophy of the Tac/Com family. Installations can be a single control and transceiver or a complex combination of up to four transceivers, dual master/slave controls, DTMF keypads, relay-simulcast controller and tone burst generator.

The Tac/Com series supports many applications and provides remarkable flexibility to accommodate specialized mission aircraft. Tac/Com offers operators the opportunity to improve their communications capability effectively and efficiently.

All Tac/Com NTX series transceivers are harness & tray compatible and Tac/Com II 250/350 series control heads can be retrofitted into existing C722, C962 or C1000 (3" Dzus) openings.

Software based and modular in design, Tac/Com is designed to be upgraded as your needs change. Options and accessories include remote attenuators for European installations, and stackable mounting trays for installations in a limited space.
